Past, Present, & Future of WBSD7 Boundaries

Prior to the 2021 merger that formed WBSD7, the previous two districts did not have specific school attendance boundaries.

DRAFTING PROCESS

RSP & Associates created a Starting Concept Boundary Map Draft in October 2024 using data on student proximity to buildings, capacity of buildings, and current student enrollments. A second Boundary Map Draft was released in January 2025, revised to reflect feedback from the community, incorporating the following points:

  • Natural Boundaries: Refined for clearer, more intuitive divisions that better align with community geography.

  • Closer Proximity: Revised to place students closer to their schools.

  • Future Growth: Adjusted to accommodate long-term growth while addressing potential capacity challenges.

The February 2025 Boundary Map (#3) reflects further adjustments, with a focus on the Lewis & Clark and Missouri Ridge boundaries, which received the most concerns in Map #2.

These changes continue to balance community input with the district's needs for growth and capacity.
